Special Note: Trap can be used for many times till the colour of the trap fades.

Step 1: Fix by locking built-in rivets of three wings to the Barrix Hunter Cap.

Step 2: Fix narrow end of the central axle to three grooves given at the bottom of the wings.

Step 3: Place the central axle in the crescent base bowl.

Step 4: Now lock the bottom with built-in rivits of wings to the crescent base bowl

Step 5: Remove the phero lure from the pouch and place the lure at the lure placement area.

Step 6: Fill the crescent base bowl with water till the over flow aperture.

Step 7: Add Kairo lure to the crescent base bowl and stir.

Step 8: Tie this assembled trap-set to the bottom of the tree at ground level only.

Step 9: Frequently refill the water into the crescent base bowl.

The Rhinoceros Beetle, also known as the Coconut Rhinoceros Beetle, is a destructive pest that can cause significant damage to palm trees. Here are some of the common types of damage caused by the Rhinoceros Beetle in palm trees:

  • Feeding on Leaves: Adult beetles and their larvae feed on the tender tissues of palm tree leaves, causing defoliation. This damage weakens the tree and affects its ability to photosynthesize and produce energy.
  • Boring into Trunk: The larvae of the Rhinoceros Beetle bore into the trunk of palm trees, creating tunnels and galleries. These tunnels weaken the structural integrity of the tree, making it more susceptible to breakage and collapse.
  • Frond Damage: Adult beetles can cause damage to the fronds (leaves) of palm trees by feeding on their edges or chewing through them. This can lead to frond deformation and reduced photosynthesis.
  • Sap Loss: As the beetles bore into the tree, they disrupt the flow of sap. This results in the loss of vital nutrients and water for the palm tree, affecting its overall health and growth.
  • Weakened Tree Health: Continuous infestations by Rhinoceros Beetles can weaken palm trees over time, making them more susceptible to other diseases and environmental stresses.
  • Decreased Crop Yields: In agricultural settings with palm tree plantations, Rhinoceros Beetle infestations can lead to reduced crop yields, affecting the economic viability of these plantations.
  • Tree Mortality: In severe infestations or when left uncontrolled, Rhinoceros Beetles can cause the death of palm trees, leading to the loss of valuable landscape and economic assets.
